PERSONAL NEWS Mrs. Nannie Albright continues very sick. - Miss Bess Sparks was in Louisville Monday. - Walter Mullins has been appointed city assessor. - Mrs. J. W. Brown is visiting Mrs. Charles Neil at Wilton. - W. T. French was over from Wildie Wednesday on business. - Dr. W. J. Childress was up from Livingston Wednesday for a few hours. - Ottis Hale, the young man who went to Princeton to school has returned. - J. J. McCall was in town a few days ago, decidedly improved in health. - Miss Lizzie Tharp is up from Brodhead spending the week with relatives. - Atty. C. C. Williams has his new additions to his residence about completed. - W. H. Carmical is better and will soon be able to be out on the streets again. - Judge J. T. Adams was in Lancaster to hear Senator Bradley speak. - "Smiling Dave" Jackson was down from London Wednesday selling stoves. - Judge L. W. Bethurum was in Lancaster Tuesday in the interest of his candidacy. - A large crowd of young people spent Sunday on Chestnut Ridge gathering chestnuts. - Our good friend, Sam Fields is suffering from an attack of fever. We hope for a speedy recovery. - Mr. Blaine Bowling leaves today for his home in Hyden, after a two weeks visit with his brother, Tucker. - Mr. Forbes will move his family from Level Green as soon as Sheriff R. L. McFerron gets his house completed. - Mr. Kendrick Alcorn who has been very ill, is thought to be on gaining ground, we are glad to say. Interior Journal. - Uncle Henry Fish is spending the week with relatives here, having just returned from a two weeks stay in Stanford. - Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Gentry, of Mt Vernon, were in the city a while last Thursday enroute home from Burnside. Somerset Times. -- Mr. and Mrs. S. H. Martin spent a few days with their daughter, Mrs. John Moore, at Berea. Mr. Martin says thing look pretty dry around Berea. - Mrs. Eliza Parks, of Nevada, Mo., is with her sister, Mrs. A W. Stewart at Silver Creek. She will be here a few days to visit relatives. - Mrs. Annie Shumate will move Dec. 1st to the property of S. B. Ramsey, just west of railroad crossing and continue her boarding house. -- Mrs. Sue Butner will take charge of the property now occupied by Mrs. Shumate. - Mr. W. P. Ballard and sister, Mrs. S. P. Pigg of Lecompton, Kansas, who has been with their sister, Mrs. Joseph Coffey left yesterday for their Western home. Mrs. Dillion, of London, is still with Mrs. Coffey. Interior Journal LOCAL NEWS Livingston is putting down more concrete pavements than any town in the state. The trustees of that place are certainly pushers. - McClary/Ryley: Mr. Cecil McClary, the poplar cashier of the Bank of Troy, and Miss Jean Ryley, of the same town were married last Thursday. The groom is a native of Rockcastle and one of her noblest sons, has a host of admiring friends in this county, who extend to him and his, their heartiest congratulations and best wishes for a life of happiness and prosperity. - F. R. Asher has sold his residence on West Main Street to James Meadows, consideration $1000. Mr. Asher will begin at once the erection of a building on the vacant lot between this property and his storehouse. - W. T. Crawford will have his sale of horses, cattle, farm products and household goods on Saturday October 17. LIVINGSTON NEWS Miss Cora Wright visited her parents at the "Eight Gables" Saturday and Sunday. - Mrs. Nora Jenkins is visiting in Louisville. - Rev. Campbell filled his regular appointment at the Christian church Saturday and Sunday. - Mrs. Annie Quinn and children, of Paris, are visiting her parents Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Hayes. - Mrs. Will Gravely has returned to her home at Gravel Switch after a pleasant visit to relatives and friends here. - Miss Pearl Owens is quite sick with typhoid fever. - Miss Lillie Arter left last week for Nashville where she will attend school. - Mr. and Mrs. Moss Mullins are visiting at Mullins Station. - Mr. E. Boreing, of Brodhead, is visiting relatives here. - Rev. Ogle and wife have broke up housekeeping and gone to boarding. - Miss Margie Childress will leave Monday for Oklahoma to spend the winter with her brother. - Mrs. J. Boreing and children visited Cove last week, -- Willie McGuire is visiting relatives in Berea. - Urban Chewing was in London this week. - Mrs. Jessie Traylor after a months visit to her husband here has returned to her home in Stanford. - Joe Childress visited relatives here Sunday. - Mrs. Sarah Hall has sold her property on Main Street to Mr. Bowers. - The skating rink opened Monday night. At present it is most poplar spot in town. - J. W. Riddle, the poplar drummer, was in town Tuesday. - Arthur Botner visited friends here this week. - Engineer, Bob Gray, who has many friends here, was killed at Covington last week. - Mr. and Mrs. John Johnson are the proud parents of a girl baby born on the 4th. - Mrs. James Parsons, of Berea, is visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. James McGuire. - Mrs. Drummond arrived Friday from Knoxville to spend the winter with her son, P. E. Drummond. - Tom Argenbright and daughter, of Ettawa, are visiting relatives here. - Miss Margie Childress spent a few days with friends at Cove before leaving for the West. - Elbert Anderson was called to Dudley to see his grandfather, who is dangerously ill. - A fine boy baby arrived at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Will Poynter Tuesday. - Miss Nellie Riddle, of Wildie, is visiting her cousin, Mrs. E. J. Anderson. - Mrs. Reuben Mullins, of Mt Vernon is visiting Mr. and Mrs. Rome Adams. - Joe Mullins is here from Parksville visiting his mother, Mrs. Nath McWhorter. - Mrs. Rose Woods, of Conway, is visiting her brother, Dr. W. J. Childress and sister, Mrs. Jas. Anderson. - James Anderson was in Brush Creek Sunday. WILDIE NEWS Born on Wednesday to Mrs. Martha Watson, a boy. - The Revs Winkler and Vanwinkle of Berea are holding a series of meetings at this place. - Mrs. Minnie Mullins is visiting relatives at Dudley this week. - Mr. Will Moore and family are moving to Jackson County. - Mart and Bell Jones were with homefoks from Friday until Sunday. - Miss Stella Adams was visiting friends at this place Saturday and Sunday. - Mr. and Mrs. Ham Dalton are the possessors of a fine girl baby which arrived at their home last Sunday. - Mrs. Laura Manus and children were down to see Mrs. Sarah Mason of Dudley Sunday, who remains very low. - Mr. Clint Todd, who had his leg broken in Tennessee a few weeks ago passed through here Tuesday on his way home at Conway. - Mrs. Jane Coffey, of Langford, was very seriously injured by falling from her barn loft Monday. - Miss Dora Ball and little sister, Annie, of Brush Creek were the guests of Mrs. W. D. Laswell Saturday and Sunday. - Mr. Frank Taylor is very sick at the home of his father, Mr. Joe Taylor. - The people of this section are at considerable inconvience about water, owing to the continued drought. - Dr. W. D. Laswell and Mr. Joe Taylor attended the Masonic meeting at Brush Creek Saturday evening and report a lively time. - Dr. Lee Chesnut was in our town Saturday. - Miss Nettie Oldham is getting along nicely with her school at this place. - Mrs. Jas.
