His sorrowing wife and three bright children together with a host of sympathetic friends accompanied the remains from Corbin to this place of one who six months ago was a healthy man, and looked as though there were many happy years in store for him. But yet, sometimes how deceitful is time. We say today that we will lay up treasures so that old age will not find us unprepared and tomorrow we are stricken down and only a name and memory is all that is left is the stricken home; but God said in his blessed word: "Dust thou art and to dust thou returnest." LOCAL NEWS The eleven-month child of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Reams died Sunday. - Harris' Great Minstrel showed here Monday evening and the square root of nothing would be a splendid representation of what it was. Such snide affairs are simply a nuisance and the city councils of the various towns would be doing the proper thing in simply putting a stop to such fakers, which could only be done with high license. A good show or minstrel is all right and we like to see one come around now and then, for we enjoy taking a peep ourselves, but a sorry Negro minstrel such as that exhibited here last Monday evening is beyond the limit, and the sooner they are put out of business the better off the country will be. - CIRCUIT COURT The December term of the Rockcastle Circuit Court witnessed an exceptionally small crowd in attendance for the first day.
