Fields Miss Mattie Tubbs leaves today for Jelico Tenn, where she will spend a short time and then return to her home in Lebanon Junction DEATH: Died, Capt Tom Jim Ballard after a long and patient suffering passed quietly away on the evening of the 8th. Five weeks ago he came to this place where he has been with his son Mr Mat Ballard who administered to his wants. he was a contented patient and seemed willing to submit to the will of Him who doeth all things well. His remains were taken to his home on big Hill for interment. Five or six people have already been bitten and there has been one death: Jim Cope's son whose faces swelled twice its natural size and lower lip rotted off before his death. The others who were bit are in a very critical condition but some hope of thier recovery DEATH: Died on the 26 Miss Eliza Adams daughter of B.F. Adams after a long and continued illness of sixtten weeks. Miss Adams was greatly admired by her associates and will be sadly missed by all. Her last days were spent in praryer and reverence to God and her last words were words of comfort and admonition to her friends and relatives left behind to so prepare themselves that when the resurrection morn shall come that they will be able to meet her within the Pearly Gates, where there will be no more sparation. She leaves a father, five brothers an two sisters and many friends to mourn her loss. Weep not, your loss is her eternal gain. Rev B.S.
