Subject: KFY: Mt Vernon Signal Newspapers, 1907 - Rockcastle Co FROM LONG AGO Submitted By: Ray E_v_a_n_s ray.evans@worldnet.att.net Mount Vernon Signal August 22, 1902 (Note: This information has been re-typed from the microfilm. The re-typed material has been subjected to a computerized spelling check. However, an effort has been made to preserve the English usage and spelling of that period.) The following details regarding the 1902 Rockcastle County Fair first appeared in the Mount Vernon Signal on August 22, 1902. Perhaps you will recognize some of your ancestors in the list of persons receiving awards. Mrs John Crawford who won several awards is the deceased grandmother of my wife Norma Crawford Evans. I used to visit Mrs Mollie Hiatt when I was a youngster in the Hiatt community. She often treated me to sugar cookies and hot chocolate. Its no wonder that she also won several awards.
