PERSONAL NEWS Mrs. Kitty Smith is much better. - Prof. Eubanks, of Lexington, will conduct the Institute at Brodhead. - Willis Adams and son, Jack are at London this week showing off their fine horse "Sidi." - Albert Hamlin is in Tennessee this week, looking after some business interests. - Mrs. Ab Sparks has returned from a two weeks visit in Richmond and Louisville. - Mrs. W. P. Lincoln, of Louisville was the guest of relatives and friends here this week. - U. G. Baker was in Livingston Monday looking after some important business matters. - Mrs. Tilman Gilpin and children of St, Louis, were guests of Mrs. D. E. Davis first of the week. - Editor E. C. Wallen, of Stanford, was a passenger on the special yesterday morning enroute to London. - Mr. L. T. Houk writes from Jamestown, Ind., that his son, Edd, is very sick with typhoid fever. -- Atty. C. C. Williams will have the new addition to his residence completed by the middle of next month. - Dr. W. A. Jones will locate at Union City, eight miles from Richmond, for the practice of his profession. - Mrs. Mary Conn is spending a few days at the hospitable country home of Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Crawford. - Harry Chasteen, who went to Colorado a few years ago, is on his way back to Rockcastle County, so we are informed. - John Fish, son of Mr. and Mrs. G. C. Fish has been appointed by Congressman Harvey Helm, as an alternative to West Point Academy. - Mrs. E. B. Cox returned home from a visit with homefolks at Pinehill and was accompanied home by her mother, Mrs. McFerron. - Elmer Houk has written to his father-in-law, Mr. S. H. Martin, to look out for him a place to locate, as he intends to return to Rockcastle County. - Dr. H. V. Pennington was down from London to see his patient Elza Langford who is rapidly recovering from a wound he received in the head several weeks ago. - Mrs. A. W. Stewart and daughter, Miss Mary, who are now with relatives at Brodhead, will arrive here tomorrow for a few days visit. While at Brodhead, they drove out to see Uncle Albert Albright, who is now up in his 80's but hale and heart for one of his age. LOCAL NEWS W. R. McClure has gone to London to start his livery stable. - G. T. Johnson will move to the Mrs. Carter property as soon as vacated by D. E. Davis. - John Graves had his examining trial Monday for the killing of Brack Tracker a few weeks ago, and was discharged on the grounds of self-defense. - Mr. Albert Hahn, of Maretburg, who has been visiting relatives and friends in Fort Wayne, Ind., for the past month writes that he will return to Rockcastle next Monday. While in Northern Indiana, Albert was accompanied by his sister Mrs. Frank Cook and family and his cousin Miss Ethel Hahn of Fort Wayne and visited many points of interest. Among them were: Warsaw, Winona Lake, Boyd City and Robinson Park. At Fort Wayne they visited the Allen County Court House, which is constructed mostly of marble and cost over a million dollars when completed a few years ago. - WEDDING - DYCHE/FISH Miss Margarite Fish and Dr. R. W. Dyche were united in the holy bonds of Matrimony Sunday at 10 o'clock p.m. at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Britton, the Rev Sipple, of London officiating. Only a few relatives and close friends were present to witness the ceremony. The bride is a most attractive young lady and can claim a large circle of adoring friends. The groom who recently came here from London and located for the practice of his profession, dentistry, is a young man of many sterling qualities, successful in the practice of his profession and has made many warm friends since coming to our town. We extend to this young couple our hearty good wishes for a long and prosperous and happy union. - WALLEN/DAVIS Miss Roberta Davis, daughter, of Dr. and Mrs. S. C. Davis, and Mr. Oscar Wallen, son of Mr. W. D. Wallen, were married at Preachersville, last Tuesday morning by Rev. F. D. Palmester. W. T. Davis a brother of the bride, and Miss Beulah Wallen, sister of the groom accompanied them and witnessed the ceremony, which bound them in one happy union. Mr. and Mrs. Wallen are too well known to need any introduction from us. Mrs. Wallen was born and reared in our midst and has the esteem and respect of all. Mr. Wallen, while a resident of a neighboring county, has a wide acquaintance here and is admired for his good qualities.
