Subject: KFY: Mt. Vernon Signal Newspapers, 1897, Rockcastle Co ------------------------- Date: Mon, 18 May 1998 From: DBXP64A@prodigy.com (C.L. C_R_A_W_F_O_R_D) ------------------------ FRIDAY JULY 16, 1897 JOHN W. BAKER an independent Republican candidate for Sheriff of Rockcastle County to be voted for at November election 1897 Negro deputies may do well enough in some localities, but Marshall James had better not send his negroes to the mountains unless he wants the stuffing shot out of them.
