OBITUARIES

  George W. McBrayer, 80, of St. Albans, formerly of Rowan County, Ky.,
died Saturday, Aug. 3, 1996, in Thomas Memorial Hospital from surgery
complications.

  He was a former employee of Union Carbide. He was a member of Morehead
(Ky.) Masonic Lodge 654, was active in establishing the annual reunion
of men who served in the CCC, Company 578, Rodburn, Ky., and attended
St. Andrew United Methodist Church, St. Albans.

  Surviving: wife, Ruth Christian McBrayer; son, William Patrick
McBrayer of Hurricane; daughters, Lucille McBrayer of Seneca Rocks,
Jacqueline McBrayer Mullins of Annandale, Va., sisters, Lula Barbour
of Deland, Fla., Erna Johnson of Evansville, Ind., Gertrude Caudill of
Ferguson, Ky.; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild.

  Service was to be 3 p.m. today at Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home,
Morehead, Ky., with the Rev. Bill Turley officiating. Burial was to be
in Christian Cemetery.
