Will of Allen Jones and Sarah Jones 9th day of July 1828 ========================================== Contributed by Deborah Parks" ========================================== Will of Allen Jones and Sarah Jones Russell County, Kentucky Deed Book B pages 43 and 44 This indenture made this 9th day of July 1828 between Allen Jones and Sarah Jones his wife of the County of Russell and State of Kentucky of the one part and David Jones of the same county and State aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that for consideration of the sum of ten dollars to them the said Allen Jones and wife paid the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged to bargain, sell and convey and by these presents do bargain sell and convey unto the said David Jones his heirs and assigns forever a certain piece or parcel of land lying and being in the county of Russell adjoining to said David Jones where he at present lives bounded as follows towit: Beginning at Allen Jones southeast corner at a black gum and dogwood running west 196 poles to a stake thence north 25 poles to a oak thence east 194 poles to a stake thence south 25 poles to the beginning containing three acres be the same more or less. To have and to hold the said piece a parcel of land with no singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging unto him the said David Jones his heirs and assigns forever and ___ the said Allen Jones and Sarah his wife do for themselves, their heirs and assigns forever and agree to and with the said David Jones his heirs that they will warrant and defend from and against the claims of themselves their heirs and assigns forever and against the claims or claims of all and every person or persons whatever to the premises hereby conveyed in witness whereof they the said Allen Jones and Sarah Jones his wife have hereunto set their hands and affix their seals the day and year first written. Allen Jones (seal) Sarah Jones (seal) State of Kentucky Russell County I, William Patterson Clerk of the County court for the county aforesaid do certify that this deed from Allen Jones an his wife Sarah Jones to David Jones was this day produced to me in my office by the said grantors and acknowledged by the said Allen Jones to be his act and deed and the said Sarah Jones being examined by me privately and apart from her husband declared that she did freely and willingly seal and deliver the said writing and wishes not to retract it and acknowledged the said writing again shown and explained to her to be her act and decree and consents that the same may be recorded. Whereupon the said deed together with the forgoing certificate hath been duly admitted to record in any office given under my had this 9th day of July 1829.
