Pages 457-460 Know all men by these presents that I Baxter Jones of the County Russell and State of Kentucky taking into consideration the certainty of death and the uncertainty of life do make this my last will and testament. First I bequeath to my Negro girl Ageletty her freedom provided she wishes with her increase if any to go with her to be at twenty years of age but to remain as the slave of Alexander Jackman until she is twenty years of age then at that age said Jackman to make her in open court the county court of said county acquainted with the nature of emancipation and the Country of Lyberia then if she shall chose to go to Lyberia she is have one hundred and fifty dollars out of my estate for the purpose of bearing her expenses to Lyberia now if she shall at the age aforesaid refuse to go to Lyberia she is to be sold and the proceeds be equally divided amongst my brothers and sisters and all the residue of my estate real, personal or mixed to be equally divided amongst my brothers and sisters after paying my just debts lastly I appoint Abner Jones my executor given under my hand this 15th August 1851. Abner Jones, Executor Russell County, Kentucky Deed Book F page 52-53 This indenture made and entered into this 29th day of September 1852 between Joel Triplett and Jane his wife of the County of McMinn and State of Tennessee, David Jones and Betty his wife, Abner Jones and Betsey his wife, Allen Jones and Mariah his wife, Alexander Jackman and Polly his wife, and William Jones of Russell County and State of Kentucky, John Jones and Emily his wife of Casey County Kentucky and William Triplett and Rebecca his wife of Bradley County State of Tennessee heirs and devisors of Baxter Jones deceased of the one part and Franklin Pierce and Keziah his wife of the County of Russell and State of Kentucky heirs of Baxter Jones and of the other part Witnesseth that the party of the first part hath granted, aliened and confirmed all their right, interest and claim in and to the following tract or parcel of land lying in the County of Russell and state of Kentucky on the waters of Greasy Creek and bounded as follows to wit: Beginning on a white oak corner to David Jones’ on a spring branch thence down said branch with it’s meanders S10W130 poles to his corner in the south line of a 50 acre survey thence with a line of the same N89 W 92 poles to a hickory and two cedars corner to said 50 acre survey thence N24 ¾ poles passing the beginning corner of the said 50 acres and a 200 acres survey to a stake in said line near a sycamore corner to Stephens and Wolford. Thence S43E166 poles to the beginning containing by survey 121 acres be the same or more or less unto the said Franklin Pierce and Keziah his wife and their heirs forever finally by that presents. Now be it fairly understood that the party of the first part acknowledge a valuable consideration in lands the remaining part of said 200 acre survey and therefore will first claim for themselves and their heirs to the aforesaid 121 acres be the same more or less. Stephens and Walfords thence N 25 poles to two black oaks thence east 152 poles to a black oak, dogwood and hickory on a line of Abner Jones’ formerly Wooldridge’s thence due S 120 poles to a stake in the ground, thence S 60 W 45 poles to the beginning. Containing by survey 98 acres be the same or more or less unto the said David and Abner Jones jointly and their heirs forever, the party of the first doth and will forever warrant and defend the title of the same from the above their heirs and assigns and all persons claiming under them together with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining to the same.
