Bush, aged 64 years, a resident of Georgetown, county of Scott, State of Kentucky, who, being duly sworn according to law, makes the follwing declaration in order to obtain pension under the provision of the Act of Congress approved April 19, 1908. That she is the widow of JAMES BUSH Pension Certificate #244511, who was enrolled under the name of JAMES BUSH, at Falmouth, Kentucky, on the 18th of July 1862 as a Private in Co. E, 7th Regt. Ky. Vol. Cavalry, and honorably discharged July 10th, 1865, having served 90 days or more during the late Civil War. That he also served None other....Discharged at Edgefield, Tennessee on above date July 10, 1865. JAMES BUSH the above named soldier died February 8, 1909. That he was not in the military or naval service of the United States otherwise than as stated above. That she was married under the name of MARIAH L. COURTNEY to said soldier at Pendleton County, Kentuck, on 10th January 1867 by REV. THOMAS LUMMIS that there was no lega. barrier to the marriage; that she had never been previously married; that the soldier had never been prevuously married, and that neither she nor said soldier married otherwise than as stated above. That the said soldier died at Williamstown, Grant County, Kentucky, February 8, 1909, that she was not divorced from him, and that she has not remarried since his death. That the said soldier left the following-named children who are now living and under sixteen years of age, to wit: No children under sixteen years of age. That she has never hereto applied for pension-- that she hereby appoints J. N. Bradley , Georgetown, Kentucky her true and lawful Attorney to prosecute this claim. BUSH, residing in Lexington, Kentucky, and HERMAN SHERRICKorSHERRILL, residing in Georgetown, Kentucky, persons whom I certify to be respectable and entitled to credit, and who, bEing by me duly sworn, say they were present and saw MARIA L. BUSH, the claimant, sign her name (or make her mark) to the foregoing declaration, that they have every reasson to believe, from the appearance of said claimant and their acquaintance with her of 29 years and 12 years, respectively, that she is the identical person she represents herself to be, and that they have no interest in the procecution of this claim.
