Major-Generals received from 15,000 to 17,500 acres; Colonels normally received 8,888 acres; Lieutenant-Colonels normally received 6,666 acres; Majors normally received 5,333 acres; Surgeons and Surgeon’s Mates received from 2,666 to 8,000 acres; Captains usually received 4,666 acres and Lieutenants, Ensigns and Cornets received normally 2,666 acres. The following lists show those Virginia officers and soldiers who received bounty lands – however, no distinction is made as to in which state the land lay. Not all of them located in Kentucky.
