DEED: Breeden, 1817, Shelby Co submitted by "Phyllis Hill" SHELBY COUNTY, KENTUCKY DEEDS, Book O, page 472 RICHARD BREEDEN to JOHN ALLEN -- DEED This Indenture made this 22 day of November eighteen hundred and seventeen between John Allen of Shelby County and State of Kentucky of the one part and Richd Breeden of Shelby County and State of of the other part witnesseth that the said Richard Breeden for and in consideration of one hundred and seventy five dollars to him in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath bargained and sold to the Said John Allen a certain tract or part of land containing twenty one acres more or less lying & being in Shelby County and on the waters of Plumb Creek bounded as follows towit Beginning on the bank of Plumb Creek at a large white Oak running down with said Creek 29 poles to a large buckeye thence south 50 degrees East forty poles to a Hickory White oak & Ash corner to John Turnham thence North 71 poles to a beech elm & Sugartree thence West 40 poles to two beeches & Hickory thence South to the beginning to have & to hold the Said tract of land to the Said John Allen & his heirs &c and the af'd Breeden for himself his heirs &c doth covenant & agree to warrant and forever defend af'd tract of land unto the Sd John Allen his heirs &c forever In Witness whereof I have set my hand seal the day & date above written if the land should be taken by a better claim the said Breeden is to refund the purchase money without interest as witness my hand and seal James Herron Richard Breeden (Seal) his Elijah (X) Breeden mark page 478 Shelby County Court Office January 19, 1818 This Indenture of bargain & sale was this day produced to me in my office & was proven to be the Act & Deed of Richard Breeden by the oath of James Herron a witness thereto and on the 7th day of May 1818 the said Indenture was further proven by the oath of Elijah Breeden another witness thereto whereupon the same was duly recorded.
