Deed Bk A, p 105 This Indenture made this 18th day of October seventeen hundred and ninety six Between Thomas METCALF and Ann his wife of the county of Shelby and State of Kentucky of the one part and Simon ADAMS of the county Franklin and state aforesaid witnesseth that the said Thomas METCALF for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred & sixty pounds current Money of Kentucky to him In hand paid the Receipt whereof he doth hereby Acknowledge and forever acquit the aforesaid ADAMS and his heirs hath granted Bargained, and sold, aliened and confirmd And by these presents doth grant Bargain and Sell, alien, and confirm, unto the said Simon ADAMS his heirs Exors administrators or assigns a certain Tract or parcel of Land containing ninety five and three quarters acres and three quarters situate lying and Being in the county and state aforesaid on Clear creek a Branch of BRASHEAREs Creek and waters of Salt River and Bounded as follows (To wit) Begining at John METCALFs north east corner two sugar trees and white Oak extending thence east one hundred and eight poles to two sugar trees & elm, thence south one hundred and forty two poles to a stake in a line of John MAYs assignee of John HUNT, thence North eighty nine degrees west with said line one hundred and nine poles to a stone, thence North one hundred and forty two poles to the Begining, and all Revertions Remainders Rents Issues, profits and Commodeties and also all the estate Right title Interest Claim and Demand whatsoever of him the said Thomas METCALF of in and incident or appertaining also all deeds evidence and charter touching or concerning the same To have and to hold the said Tract or parcel of land and all other the premises hereby granted bargaind and sold with their and every of their appurtenances to the said Simon ADAMS his heirs and assigns forever to the only proper use and behoof of him the Said Simon ADAMS and his heirs or Assigns and the said Thomas METCALF for himself and his heirs doth here by covenant & grant, that the said Thomas METCALF and his heirs the said Tract or parcel of Land ____ all other the premises hereby granted and sold, with all singular their Rights titles and appurtenances, & from all and every person or persons whatsoever will warrant and forever defend unto the aforesaid Simon ADAMS by these presents the premises hereby granted bargaind and sold. In Testimony whereof the said Thomas METCALF and Ann his wife hath hereunto set their hands and affixed their seals the day and year within written Thomas METCALF [seal] Ann [X] METCALF [seal] Shelby County (Towit) October Court 1796 This Indenture was acknowledged by the within named Thomas METCALF and Ann his wife to be their act and deed.
