Lena Shelby County Clerk’s Office, Shelby Co., KY 1848 Land Record--Shelby Co., Kentucky Book Q-2 Page 86A Notation in margin: Sanders to Ross This Indenture made and entered into this 8th day of June 1848 between Albert Sanders and Iemima his wife of the County of Shelby and State of Kentucky of the one part and Sanford V. Ross of the County and State aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the Sum of Seventy dollars to them in hand / paid the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged had granted bargained and sold and by these Consents do Sell and Convey to the Said Sanford V. Ross and his heirs all of that tract or parcel of land situate lying and being in the County and State aforesaid on the Waters of beech creek and connected as follows namely Beginning at a White walnut and ash Stump corner to Isaac Brumly in C(?)ary Williams line thence with the same W33, E86 Poles to a Stone corner to Said Williams thence S 60, E61 poles to stone corner to John Taylor thence with a line of the same ?30 W84/poles to a stone corner to William Corban thence W69 W66 poles to the Beginning Containing thirty acres and one half of an acre be the same more or less To have and to hold to him the said Sanford V. Ross his heirs & _ forever all and singular the appurtenances, thereunto belonging and the Said Albert Saunders and Iemina his wife do by there presents bind themselves their heirs & c. to warrant and defend the title of the Said tract of land, to him the Said Sanford V. Ross and his heirs against the Claim or Claims of all persons Whosoever And the Said Iemima doth by these presents relinguish all of her right of dower in and to the above named and described tract of land. In testimony Whereof the Said Albert & Iemima Saunders, have hereunto Set their hands and affixed their Seals the day and year first mentioned. A Sanders Iemima Sanders State of Kentucky, Shelby County &Ct I Hector A Chinn clerk of the County Court for the County aforesaid Certify that this deed from Albert Sanders and Iemima his wife to Sanford V. Ross were produced to my ______ in office or his deputy on the 8th day of August 1848 and acknowledged by the said Albert Sanders to be his act & deed as appears from an endorsement thereon in the hand Writing of my _____ _____ or his deputy in these words “1848 C O August 8th A by Sanders” and on the 2nd day of September 1851 the Said Iemima being examined by me privately and a part from her Said husband declared that She did freely and Willingly Seal and deliver Said Writing and Wishes not to retract it And acknowledged Said Writing again Shown and Explained to her to be her act of deed, and Consented that the Same May be recorded.
