OBIT: Lyon, Daniel, 1966 - born Shelby County, Kentucky --------------------------------------------------- Contributed to the USGW Kentucky Archives by: Hallie Martinson "HDBM@aol.com" February 28, 1999 --------------------------------------------------- Daniel Lyon, Former City Official, Dies Daniel Edwin Lyon, 89, a longtime building department inspector for the City of Ventura, died today after suffering a series of strokes, He lived at 1642 Vista Del Mar, Ventura Born Sept. 21, 1876, in Shelbyville, KY., Mr. Lyon came to Ventura in 1914 from Evansville, Ind. He had worked for the Veterans Administration in Los Angeles for the last 10 years and for the City of Ventura for 22 years as a building inspector. He was a member of the Retired Business and Professional Men's Club of Ventura and attended the Nazarene Church of Ventura. Mr. Lyon is survived by his sons, Harry and Herbert, both of Ventura; by his daughters Mrs. Margurite Smeltz of Ventura and Mrs. Rosina Carr of Oak, Wash., and by eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Ted Mayer Funeral Chapel, Ventura with the Rev. Bill Prince officiating.
