Ross and Mahala Jane Rogers We, the undersigned, are jointly and severally held and firmly bound unto the Commonweath of Kentucky, in the sum of $100, to be made and levied of our respective goods, chattels, lands and tenements, and for the use of the Commonwealth--upon the condition that there is no lawful cause to obstruct the marriage of Joseph L. Ross and Mahala Jane Rogers. Given under our hand and seals, this 24 day of August, 1855. Joseph L. Ross AndreW L. Rogers State of Kentucky, Shelby County Joseph L. Ross having entered into bond with security, in the penalty of $100, this license is granted him to intermarry with Mahala Jane Rogers by concent of her father Charles Rogers in writing and any Minister, legally authorized, may celebrate the rites of matrimony between the said parties.
