And As touching my wordly Estate wherewith it hath pleased god to bless me with in this life, I give devise and dispose of the same, in the manner and form following that is to say, In the first place I lend to my well beloved Wife Elizabeth Clarke all my estate both Real and Personal so long as she remains my Widow but at her death or marriage my Will and desire is that my Whole estate both real and personal be it of what nature or quality soever may be sold and the money arising from the said Sale to equally divided among all my children. I lastly constitute and Appoint my loving Wife Elizabeth Clarke my son Benjamin, my son Obadiah Clarke, and my brother in Law John Ellis my Executors to this my last will and Testament. In Witness Whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my Seal the day and year Above written. This day Roger Gregory Junior and James Grinstead two of the Witnesses whose names are subscribed to the Within Will Personally appeared before me Hezekiah Henley a Justice of the Peace for the said County and made Oath that John Clarke did in their presence sign seal and Acknowledge the Within to be his last Will and that he Was of disposing mind. Given under my hand this third day of September One thousand seven hundred and ninety Eight. Hez. Henley Virginia Henrico County to wit. I Adam Craig Clerk of Henrico County in the State of Virginia aforesaid do Certify, that Hezekiah Henley; Gent. who hath subscribed the foregoing Certificate, is a magistrate in and for the County of Henrico aforesaid, and that full faith and truth should be given to his signature as such.Given under my hand and the seal of the said County of Henrico, this twenty eighth day of September in the year of Our Lord, One thousand seven hundred and ninety Eight and in the twenty third of our foundation.
