Hinton, W. J. Goodrum and John Massey, of Old Union Church ses- sion, being present was invited to a seat. The following persons were received into the church by experience and baptism: to wit, Miss Martha M. Lambert, Miss Lula M. Andrews, H. C. Hinton, R. M. Hinton, and Leslie Thomas, Session opened and closed with prayer M. M. Smith Mod. I.W. Hinton Clk. ---------------------------------------------- (Page 13) Mt. Tabor Church Mar. 18 - 1898. The session was called by the Moderator members present I. W. Hinton, and Mr. Willie Massey, and Willis Goodrum of Old Union church session being present was invited to a seat. The following persons were received into the church by letter. Jno. E. Goodrum, and wife Sarah Goodrum, Mr. Goodrum was elected and ordained an elder in the Mt. Tabor church. Was then elected representative to Presbyterry(sic), I.W. Hinton his alternate. Session closed with prayer by Chas. W. Welch. M.M. Smith Mod. Tabor not being an organised(sic) congregation, (having only one elder) was made a mission point under the care of the Franklin church. It was supplied with preaching by Bro. Welch. The following March, another elder was elected, the church re- organised. It was by Rev. M.M. Smith and taken under the care of Presbyterry(sic) in April 1898 at Morgan town. Rosa Hinton Clerk.
