16 Jan 1826 Spencer Co. Deed Book A p. 252  Prestly BRIDWELL of the County of 
Spencer and Commonwealth of Kentucky of the one part to William WELLS of the 
Same County of the other part...   for and in consideration of the sum of six 
hundred Dollars to him in hand paid  do give grant bargain and sell a certain 
tract or parcel of land situate lying and being in the County of Spencer on the 
waters of Simpson’s Creek adjoining John P. HARRISON’s land formerly claimed by 
James WHITE and bounded  as follows:  Beginning at a large --- in John P. 
HARRISON’s line thence south 61 East 127 poles to stake at the end of a lane in 
John McKINLEY’s line thence North 20 East 140 poles to a Buckeye and hickory 
thence North 20 --- 30 poles to an ---- Sugartree and dogwood thence North 55 
West 69 poles to a beech then South 31 West 166 poles to the Beginning 
Containing one hundred and eleven acres of land.
