McGEE of the County of Spencer and State of Kentucky of the one part and Reuben COLLINGS and Nathan COCHERAN of the County and state aforesaid of the other part... for and in consideration of the sum of Eight hundred Dollars to me in hand paid do grant Bargain and sell a certain tract or parcel of land containing Six hundred and sixteen acres more or less lying and being in the County of Spencer and State of Kentucky on Salt River, the same tract that was owned by Jacob CRIST in his lifetime which fell to the legal heirs of Jacob CRIST Deceased after his death. it is clearly to be understood that the said E. K. McGEE being the heirs by marriage of said CRIST hath only conveyed all my interest and claim in said land. signed E .K. McGEE When the Raphael Lancaster (the clerk) records this deed he states " This indenture was acknowledged before me in my office by the within named Enoch K. McGEE and Rebecca C. Whereas Robert COCHRAN dec'd published his last will and testament the 22 day of November 1824 in which among other devisees he made the following : I will to my daughter Polly THOMAS that part of my farm that lies west of the big road and three negroes towit, Maria, Mira and Peter she is also to have stock equal to any other children "and the said Polley THOMAS who was the wife of the aforesaid William THOMAS hath departed this life without any lineal heirs and dispute (?) having arisen whether the aforesaid John COCHRAN, Anna KINCHELOE and Martha YANTIS who are the children and devisees of the said Robert COCHRAN dec'd and are not under the laws of the land the legal heirs of the said Polly THOMAS dec'd to remedy which This Indenture therefore witnesseth that for and in consideration of the premises and further consideration of the receipt thereof of one dollar to us in hand paid the said William THOMAS is hereby acknowledged and we the heirs and Representatives of Robert COCHRAN have granted bargained sold and conveyed to the said William the aforesaid tract devised by our father to Polly THOMAS lying in the County of Spencer on the waters of Buck Creek containing by survey one hundred and fifty acres be the same more or less.
