KY Deed Book F p. 11 8 Dec 1841 CALEB HARDESTY and his wife SUSANNAH HARDESTY of the County of Spencer and State of Kentucky of the one part and WILLIAM H. MAY of the County and State aforesaid of the other part. Whereas my Son WILLIAM P. HARDESTY is now residing upon a part of my land and has the following named children towit: MARIA ELIZABETH HARDESTY, JOSHUA J. HARDESTY, CALEB HARDESTY, SHELBURNE HARDESTY and SUSANNAH HARDESTY who are minors under the age of twenty one years and for the natural love and affection I the said CALEB HARDESTY have and bear towards my said son and above named grandchildren and the desire I feel of providing for my said grand children a home upon which they can be raised and educated. Now in consideration of the promises aforesaid and for the consideration of the sum of One Dollar to me in hand paid by the said WILLIAM H. MAY the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged we the said CALEB HARDESTY and SUSANNAH his wife have given granted bargained sold and conveyed and by these presents do give grant bargain and Sell unto the said WILLIAM H. MAY in Trust for the uses and purposes herein after designated and enumerated the tract of land upon which my said Son WILLIAM P. HARDESTY now lives situate lying and being in Spencer County adjoining the farm upon which the said CALEB HARDESTY now lives containing about Seventy acres be the same more or less and bounded by a stone a corner to NATHAN CAIN thence north to a stone in the edge of main road from Taylorsville to Bloomfield another corner to NATHAN CAIN thence with the main road to a hickory tree tow a corner of HUMPHREY MAY thence with GATTON’S line to the corner at a sink hole thence with GATTON’S line to a sugar tree a corner to the lands of GEORGE SMALLWOODS heirs thence with said line to a Beech tree... to the Beginning to have and to hold for the following uses and purposes viz: for the occupation and use of the said MARIA ELIZABETH HARDESTY, JOSHUA J. HARDESTY, CALEB HARDESTY, SHELBURN HARDESTY and SUSANNAH HARDESTY until the youngest one of them shall arrive to the age of 21 years and in order that they may be clothed, boarded and educated as far as the proceeds of said tract of land will justify the said Trustee is to permit WILLIAM P. HARDESTY & his wife the father and mother of said children before stated to live upon said tract of land and enjoy the same for the special purpose of appropriating the proceeds & profits thereof to the raising of their said children until the youngest one of them shall arrive at the age of twenty one years and for no other purpose whatever and upon the youngest one of the children aforesaid arriving at the age of twenty one years shall convey the said tract of land in fee simple to the said grandchildren or to the survivor or survivors of them or to the children of such one or more of them lawfully begotten ...
