12 March 1824 Spencer Co. KY Deed Book A p. 12 CHARLES B. PORTER and MARIANN 
his wife of the County of Daviess and State of Kentucky of the one part and 
SILAS H. DAVIS of the County of Spenser and State aforesaid... that for and in 
consideration of the sum of five hundred and fifty dollars current money of the 
state aforesaid to them in hand paid hath given granted bargained and sold a 
certain tract or parcel of land situate lying and being in the County of 
Spenser being in that part of Spenser which formerly belonged to Shelby and 
State aforesaid and bounded  as follows:  Beginning on the line which  divides 
JOHN ALLEN Snrs. land and HENRY HURSTS where th road leading from Bardstown to 
Shelby which crosses the same ... containing 55 acres, one Rood and 14 poles.
