30 March 1844 Elijah WIGGINTON and Ann WIGGINTON his wife of the County of  Spencer and State 
of Kentucky of the one part to Joseph and Mahlon SHIELDS of the County of Spencer in Commonwealth 
aforesaid of the other part... that for and in consideration of the sum of Fifteen hundred Dollars to them 
in hand paid have given granted bargained and sold a certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the 
County of Spencer containing by survey Twenty seven and one half acres on Simpsons Creek known as the 
old  Mill tract.
