6 October 1833  Spencer Co. Deed Bk C p. 448  Henry NAPPER of Spencer County and State of 
Kentucky to Newman WELLS of the same County and State... that for and in consideration of 
the sum of Thirty Dollars to me in hand paid have bargained granted and sold a certain Tract 
or parcel of land lying and being in Spencer County on the waters of Simpsons Creek and 
bounded by the line of Said WELLS.

6 Nov 1843  Spencer Co. Deed Book G p. 225  Harriet McCROCKLIN, widow of Washington 
McCROCKLIN Dec'd of the County of Spencer and State of Kentucky of the one part to Newman 
WELLS of the Same County and state aforesaid of the other part that for and in Consideration 
of the sum of Six hundred and ten Dollars the amount specified in a Bond which the said 
Washington executed to the said WELLS bearing date 29 Jan 1840  and in which Bond the said 
Washington McCROCKLIN acknowledged to have received the amount of money as aforesaid and to 
Convey to the S'd WELLS thirty acres two roods and fourteen poles of land and for the 
further Consideration of one Dollar to the said Harriet McCROCKLIN in hand paid doth grant 
bargain sell and convey all right title interest and claim which she has and has acquired by 
and through a Deed made by Thomas COOK and Sarah COOK his wife to her the said Harriet 
McCROCKLIN and Ellen Jane McCROCKLIN the only child of the said Washington Dec'd dated 22 
April 1843 now of record in the clerk's office of Spencer County in and to thirty acres two 
roods and fourteen poles in the county of Spencer on the waters of Simpson's Creek  bounded 
by said WELLS and McCROCKLIN's corner... to a corner to FOSTER.

(no day) June 1844 Newman WELLS and Elizabeth his wife of the County of Spencer and state of 
Kentucky of the one part to Elijah WIGGINTON of the same County and State of the other part 
that for and in consideration of the sum of Thirteen hundred and sixty Dollars to them in 
hand paid do grant bargain and sell a certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the 
County of Spencer and State aforesaid... bounded by the edge of the road leading to 
Frankfort from the mouth of Simpson's Creek... south to a corner of George WELLS...to a line 
of James BOYLES.  (deed is badly damaged and if it gives the amount of acres I was unable to 
find it).

2 March 1846 Spencer Co. Deed Book G p. 352  Newman WELLS and Elizabeth his wife of the 
County of Spencer and State of Kentucky to Elijah WIGGINTON of the County and State 
aforesaid of the other part... that for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred and 
eight Dollars to him in hand paid have given granted bargained and sold a certain tract or 
parcel of land situate in Spencer County on the waters of Simpsons Creek and  bounded by the 
line of James BOYLES.
