4 Aigist 1826 Spencer Co. KY Deed Book A p. 331 George WELLS of Spencer County 
and State of Kentucky of the one part to Jacob SWOPE Senr. of Lincoln County of 
the other part. Witnesseth that the said George WELLS for and in consideration 
of the sum of one dollar Hath Bargained and sold unto the said Jacob SWOPE and 
his heirs the following described tract or Parcel of land containing two 
hundred and eighty two acres situated in Spencer County being that which was 
conveyed to the said George WELLS by the Said Jacob SWOPE   (too damaged to get 
better description from this part of the deed)...Provided that the grantor is 
indebted to the grantee in the sum of five hundred dollars in Silver due the 
first day of May 1827 and also is indebted five hundred dollars in Silver to be 
paid on the first dy of May 1828 also is indebted for five hundred Dollars in 
Silver to be paid the first day of May 1829 also is indebted three hundred and 
thirty two dollars in silver to be paid the first day of May 1830 all which 
different nsums the said grantor has executed his four different notes agreable 
to the above... but if the said WELLS truely pays the sums of money with 
interest therof then this agreement to cease and be of no effect.
