23 October 1830 Spencer Co. Deed Book A p. 442  William WELLS and Mildred WELLS 
his Wife of the County of Spencer and State of Kentucky to Newman WELLS of the 
Same County and State... for and in consideration of Six hundred Dollars 
current money of the United States to them in hand paid have granted bargained 
and sold a certain tract or parcel of land situate lying and being in the 
County of Spencer and State aforesaid and bounded as follows: Beginning at a 
large beech in John P. HARRISON’s line and running South Sixty one degrees East 
eighty seven on and a fourth poles to a Stone on the east side of the main road 
leading from Shelbyville to Fairfield, A. KING’s corner thence with his line 
South twenty Degrees East twenty two and a half poles to a stone in s’d road 
another of KING’s corners thence North twenty eight and three fourth degrees 
East sixteen poles to a sugartree in HARRISON’s old line ...
