Mr. Cary Arnold a well known citizen of our town passed away almost without warning Monday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock. He had been out in town that morning and again that afternoon. About 1:30 o'clock he left the funeral home of Foreman-Greenwell, Co. where he was in the habit of spending some part of most every day and he seemed to be as well as usual when he decided to go to the residence of his niece Mrs. Albert Collings in whose home he lived. When the attack came his physician was called but there was nothing that could be done to save him and the end came at 3:30 o'clock. The deceased was born in Owen County August 12, 1867 and came to Spencer about fifty years ago and lived near Waterford. He was a farmer until he retired some years ago. He was a member of the Plum Creek Church of Taylorsville F.A. and M. Lodge and of the Taylorsville Chapter Order of the Eastern Star. The funeral service was held from the local Baptist church Wednesday morning at eleven o'clock and was conducted by Rev. C.A. Molpus assisted by Rev. Ralph White. The Taylorsville Masonic Lodge took charge of the service at the grave with Mr. John Heady officiating. He is survived by his niece Mrs. Colling's, a sister Mrs. Randa Roberts of Lexington, a step son Mr. R.B. Hickman, a step daughter Mrs. Josie Griffith McArthur and a number of nieces and nephews. The remains were taken to Owen county and were interred in the Monterey cemetery. Pall beareres were masons, Messrs. Norman Love, Amos Williams, Louis Hume, Derice Johnson, R.J. Holloway and O.L Watson. Honorary pall bearers were Messrs. T.G Hedges, Jack Briscoe, Grigsby Weaver, Hubert Hume, John Heady and Dewey Harris. Members of the Chapter of Eastern Star carried the flowers. They were Mesdames Joe Veech, Leo Stout, Grigsby Weaver and Miss Katie Beauchamp. Visitors from out of the county were Mrs. Landa Roberts and daughters Misses Eunice, Fronie and Earl of Lexington; Mr. Ronald Hickman, Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Hickman, Mr. and Mrs. R. B. Hickman, Mr. and Mrs. Hardin, and Mrs. Daisy Spillman of Louisville; Mrs. Chas. Wigginton, Mr. Elmer Smither, Mr. Alex Smither and Mr. Milton Arnold of Frankfort and Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Jasper of Jeffersontown.
