Tichenor, aged 81 years, died just before noon Tuesday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Phil Board, and Mr. Board, in this city. He has been a resident here since he was stricken with paralysis about four years ago, during which time he was a partial invalid until seven months ago when he became incapacitated. Mr. Tichenor was for about forty-three years a prominent and successful farmer of Nelson county, and was highly esteemed as a citizen. As a young man he united with the Elk Creek Baptist church in Spencer county, and was a devout Christian and active in his faith as long as his strength permitted. His wife died a number of years ago and he is survived by two sons, and a daughter, Ruby Tichenor, Bardstown; J. A. Tichenor, Bloomfield; Mrs. Board, Harrodsburg. He also leaves two brothers, Basil Tichenor, of Bloomfield, and Everett Tichenor, of Bardstown. A short prayer service was held at the Board home on Greenville street Thursday morning at ten o'clock, and the funeral was at the Little Union Baptist church in Nelson county in the afternoon, with burial in the family lot in the cemetery there. The Rev. G. Whitcomb Ellers was the officiating minister. (HH Fri Sep 30, 1932)
