Edelen Passed Away At His Home On Bloomfield Raod Again the Grim Reaper has been in our midst and has claimed for his own Mr. J.T. Edelen aged seventy nine, well known farmer and retired merchant, who for many years has lived on his farm near Taylorsville on the Bloomfield Road. He died Tuesday, July 2, at 12:00 o'clock after a serious illness which lasted two weeks. He is survived by his widow Mrs. Althea Allaway Edelen, two daughters Mrs. J.L. Tichenor of Miami, Fla, and Mrs. Chas. Neal of Taylorsville, two grandsons Lloyd A. Tichenor of Miami and Glen C. Edelen of Taylorsville, three sisters, many other relatives, and a large circle of friends. When a young man Mr. Edelen became a christian and at his death was a faithful member of the Waterford Baptist church. Funeral services were held in the family residence and were conducted by his pastor Rev. Edgar Pound assisted by Rev. Jack Tichenor, Thursday, July 3 at 4:00 0'clock. Pall bears were Messrs. Geo. Tichenor, Max Rouse, Tom Howe, Raymond Neal, Chas. Jasper and Chas. Warren. Special music was rendered by Mrs. Lyle Rouse. Interment was in Valley cemetery.
