BRISCOE his portion of the slaves and personal estate of Father JOHN M. BRISCOE Dec’d met at the house of EDMUND TERREL in Spencer County on the 14 June 1831 and after being first sworn made the following alotment to wit: The lot of land Number 3 adjoining the widow’s dower on the East and Six slaves of the following ages and valuation towit: JULIA aged 44 valued $200 HARRIET aged 8 $250 JAMES 48 years old valued at $150 (or 450 - badly blotted) WINEY 12 years old valued at $250 HAGAR 19 years of age valued at $357 ABRAM (?) about 11 years of age valued at $300 amounting in all to $1450 and after dividing giving each shear $362.50 and after drawing by Lot JOHN M. BRISCOE received ULIA and HARRIET being in value $37.50 more than his portion we find in the hands of the curator fifty Dollars togetehr with the hire of the negroes until Christmas amounting to $161.99 in all alloting to JOHN M.
