Slone Guards for Frances Hatfield and Elizabeth Hatfield Guardn of Rhoda Hatfield Elizabeth and James Hatfield heirs of William Hatfield Decd. Itis ordered that William Jewell Abner Norman James W Beckham and Peter Stout or any three of them being first Sworn do divide the Slaves of William Hatfield Decd among his heirs and make report __. Lancaster Clk Spencer County Set William Jewell Abner Norman and Peter Stout who have been appointed by the Spencer County Court to assign the Dower to Elizabeth Hatfield widow of William Hatfield Decd. Also to divide the Slaves of Said Hatfield amongst his heirs personally appeared before the undersigned a Justice of the Peace for sd County and was duly Sworn to perform the charge entrusted to them. Given under my hand this 18th day of Sept 1826. Jas. W. Beckham J.P.S.C. In obedience to an order of the Spencer County Court w proceeded to Value and divide the Slaves of which William Hatfield Decd died seized and possessed in the following manner (Towit) To Elizabeth Hatfield widow & relict of the Said William Hatfield Decd we have allotted and assigned. One Negroe woman named Alie/Ales? appraised to $300.00 One negroe man named Ralph Do to 800.00 1100.00 The Division amongst the heirs is as follows Towit Elijah Hatfield drew a negroe boy Cyrus appraised to $500.00 John Henry drew Alonzo a negroe boy Do to 300.00 Frances Hatfield drew one negroe woman Anarcha Do to 600.00 Rhoda Hatfield drew a negroe girl Adaline Di to 300.00 Elizabeth Hatfield drew two negroe children Pleasant & Washington do to 400.00 James Hatfield drew a negroe boy Henry Do to 275.00 The above show the allotment of the Slaves belonging to the Estate of William Hatfield Decd between the widow & the heirs of the Said Hatfield Decd. Given under our hands September 10th1836. Wm Jewell Abner Norman Peter Stout Sur. At a County Court held for Spencer County on Monday the 3rd day of October 1836. This assignment of the Dower of Elizabeth Hatfield in the Slaves of herr late husband William Hatfield was this day returned and ordered to be recorded. Whereupon the same is established as the Dower of said Elizabeth Hatfield in the Slaves of her late husband William Hatfield Decd and itis ordered that the said Elizabeth Hatfield hold the said Slaves to her assigned as aforesaid and for her dower. This Division of the Slaves of which William Hatfield died seized and possessed and allotment of said Slaves among the Children and heirs of the Said William Hatfield Deceased was returned and ordered to be recorded.
