WOOTTON and wife, Heirs of John STILWELL Deceased, it is ordered that Edmond STONE, Raphael LANCASTER, Ashagorose VANARSDEL and Simeon HOOPER or any three of them being first Sworn be and they are hereby appointed as Commissioners to layoff and assign unto Eliza STILWELL widow and relict of said John STILWELL Deceased for her Dower in the lands and Slaves of which her said husband died seized and possessed and make report thereof to Court. A Copy Test Ralph LANCASTER, cstble Spencer County Sct Edmond STONE, Ahasuerus VANARSDAL & Simeon HOOPER This day personally appeared before the under signed One of the justices of the peace in and for said county and took the Oath qualifying them to act in accordance with the within order. Given under my hand this 8th day of March 1847. W. B. MURPHY JPSC In Obedience to an order of the Spencer County Court we met on the lands of John STILWELL Decd and proceeded to lay off and assign to Eliza STILWELL (now COOK) formerly the widow oand relict of the said John STILWELL Decd her Dower in said lands as follows. Towit: Beginning at figure 1 two white oak trees by the side of the County road a corner of Jesse M. BOSTON and Spencer SHELLMAN running thence with said SHELLMANS line passing his corner and thence with John M. CROCKLINS line North 167 poles to a honey locust and Sugar tree a corner to Said McCROCKLINs figure 2 & thence with a line of his north 74 west 134 poles to two beech trees a corner of his at figure 3 thence with another line of his north 14 west 30 poles to a hickory and ash tree in said line at figure 4 thence south 61 west 126 poles to a stone in the County road leading from Louisville to Taylorsville at figure 5; thence with said road 334 poles to the Beginning Containing 148 acres being one third of the tract which contains 444 acres, All of which we respectfully report to the honorable Spencer County Court. Given under our hands March 10th 1847 Edmond STONE S. B. HOOPER comms Ah VANAESDEL At a County Court held for Spencer County on Monday this 5th day of April 1847. This assignment of the Dower of Eliza STILWELL in the lands of which her late husband John STILWELL died seized and possessed was this day returned and ordered to be recorded. Whereupon the same is established as the Dower of the said Eliza STILWELL in the lands of her late husband John STILWELL Deceased and it is recorded that the said Eliza STILWELL hold the said land to her assigned as aforesaid as and for her Dower.
