Dallas (TX) Morning News, 27 January 1912
Matthews – Paris, Tex., Jan. 26 – Mrs. Laura Matthews, the wife of C. P. 
Matthews, an old resident, died yesterday evening at her home on South Twenty-
Fifth street. The deceased came here as a child from Kentucky at the same time 
that the late Gen. S. B. Maxey, Col. Sheb Williams and others came.
