RICHARDSON made affidavit that he was about 66, and that he was well acquainted with William Roberts and his wife in VA. Affidavit made April 13, 1850 in Rockcastle, KY. RICHARDSON is s/o John, brother of Richardson of Montgomery VA. HIRAM ROBERTS married d/o Richardson in Montgomery VA 1801. Surety was James Roberts. James married William Roberts' oldest daughter, Eleanor Roberts. Pension Application of NICHOLAS HAUCK NC R5257 (3257) Nicholas Hauck born ca 1740 was living in Rockcastle Co. KY when he made application on Sept. 1833, aged 93. He stated that he was born in Bucks Co., PA. He enlisted in Polk Co., NC. He died August 6, 1841. Houk Family Dictionary. Dr. Theo W. Sarah died at the home of RICHARDSON ROBERTS, husband of Catherine Houk. He was Administrator of her estate. Richardson Roberts, aged ca 60, made affidavit in Rockcastle County, KY on sept 1845 that Nicholas and Sarah Houk had 8 children, 6 living in 1845. JAMES ROBERTS was Surety for marriage of HIRAM ROBERTS to d/o Richardson Roberts (oldest) in Montgomery/Fincastle Co., VA. Silas Riggs, aged 70, made affidavit in Rockcastle Co., KY in 1850 that he was well acquainted with William Roberts in VA and that he had always understood that they were married in Bedford Co., VA in 1776. "Revolutionary War Veterans" - Rockcastle County, by Jess D. Wilsons. MOURNING (or Morning) ROBERTS born July 15, 1758, in Virginia. He enlisted at age of 19, the last of February or March 1, 1777, in Albermarle County, VA, in the Revolutionary War. He served in the 14th Regiment of Virginia Line under Chas. Lewis, Colonel Abram Buford, and Major John Marks. On Oct. 13, 1832, MORNING ROBERTS made application for pension at the age of 74. Pension File - S 31342 Virginia. "Rockcastle Recollections" MOURNING ROBERTS, Revolutionary War Veteran, settled in Rockcastle County between 1806 and 1830. Mourning Roberts from Scaffold Cane among those present at a meeting November 2, 1820 for the purpose of organizing a United Baptist Church at Brush Creeks. (From issue of Sept. 25, 1875 (?)). MOURNING ROBERTS born July 15, 1758, died Sept. 21, 1833. Buried in Viers, Todd-Stephen Cemetery on farm of Stephen Bullen, Scaffold Cane, Rockcastle County, KY.
