H. Bryant was visitng in Lincoln county last week J. P. Beard (Board?) has returned from a business trip to Adair co. Seymour Philips of Owensbore, is the guest of P.S. ROBINSON Mrs. Mag Tucker of New Market, is visiting MRS. Sallie EWING of this city U. P. Walling and H. S. Robinson were in Columbia friday on business Miss Gracie Bain has returned from a visit to relatives at Ft. Wayne, Ind. Miss Lora Grant of Louisville, is visiting the family of A. B. GOWDY, of this city Alf Graves of Lebanon, was the guest of P.S. ROBINSON Saturday and Sunday. Walter Ellis of Louisville, has been visiting his parents, at this place for several days B. T. Cowherd, Wife and Children, are with relatives and friends in this city for a few days. Mrs. Cordie Rosenfield and Mrs Cary Hurt of Columbia , were the guests of Mrs. J. R. SMITH last week. Mrs Charles Bullock of Louisville, is visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs.J. J. MERKLEY, near this place. Burton Collins left Saturday for Little Rock, Ark., to make that city his future home. Mrs. Susie Leachman and Miss Sarah VanMeter, of Greensburg were visiting Miss Edna WILLIAMS last week. R. M. Wingfield who has resided in this city for about a year in the cigar business, left monday afternoon for his home in Charlottsville, Va Mrs. Jane Philips and Misses Fannie and Ruth Philips who have been visiting the family of R. J. HACKLEY, near this city for several weeks returned to their home at Brandenburg Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. T. W. Buchanan entertained last thursday night in honor of Misses Jennie COWHERD and Lillie BENDER, of Louisville. WARREN and others, on a note of 95 dollars Robert GRAHAM, a highly respected citizen of Willowtown this county, is quite sick. He is suffering from Cancerous sore which nearly cover his body. He is not expected to live long. Wes WRIGHT, son of Mr. John S. WRIGHT of this city, is very low with bone erysipelas in his left leg, and feared he will not recover. There is a large hole eaten in his leg, between the knee and ankle to the bone. Mr. H. E. CHANDLER ad will hammer your saws in the best manner address him at Elkhorn Rev. W. T. SHORT and J.T. CREEL and Joe SMITH Mr. James P. CARROLL fell over a piece of sheet iron at Mr. Joe WILLOCK's grocery and injured his knee. He has brought suit against the town for $1,000 damages. While we Sympathize with mr. Carroll in his injury and deplore it, we can hardly believe that the town authorities can hardly be blamed for an accident like this. Mrs. John GILPIN, of near this place, died at the residence of her mother, Mrs. Lydia BOWLES, at spurlington last Wednesday. Funeral Services were conducted by Rev. A. P. LYON, assited by Revs. G. S. KING and J. E. RUSHING at the Union Bridge Church. Deceased was 26 years old and a member of the methodist church. Mr. Jos. H. PATTESON while grinding a mower blade on last ?day, had his left hand severly hurt. Mr. George FORTH, of Somerset, formerly of this city, has again made himself famous as a bicycle rider. He won prizes last year at Richmond and also in Russells Spring. At the fair this year in Russell Springs he was winner of three prizes. He is one of the best Wheelman of this state. A Re-Union Society of the old Union Soldiers will be organized at this place and will be known as "Green County Reunion Society". It will be under the auspices of the N. F. TWYMAN Post, G. A. R. , of Greensburg. The first meeting will be held Thursday and Friday Sept. 27 and 28th 1900, in the woodland of John T. RUSSELL, near the railroad trestle. 1 1/2 miles north of Greensburg.
