Submitted by Debbie Dicken Mr. Leslie "Jack" Cox, 71, of the Stoner Creek Community of Taylor County, son of the late Nathan and Mary Burress Cox was born in Taylor County Nov. 2, 1898 and died suddenly at his home at 4:20 a.m. Tuesday, July 7th. He was a member of the Feathersburg Church of God. He united in marriage to Lola Gay Cox, March 17, 1918. To this union nine children were born. Troy Orvin, James Carl and Martin Luther having died in infancy. Arvie Lee Cox preceded his father in death June 1, 1960. Surviving are Mr. Hubert Cox of Campbellsville, Mr. Robert Cox of Decatur, Ga., Mr. Orville Cox, Miss Edith Cox and Mr. Leslie Doyle Cox all of Elkhorn, Route 1. He is also survived by one grandson, Larry Cox, of Elkhorn, Route 1, whom he raised and twelve other grandchildren. Also survived by two sisters: Mrs. Anna Miller of Columbus, Indiana and Mrs. Janie Parson of Ohio. Funeral services were held Thursday, July 9th in the Jones Chapel Methodist Church by Rev. Joe Mings with burial in the Jones Chapel Methodist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Dalton, Danny A., Danny D., Donald, Kent and Rodger Cox. Unknown Taylor County newspaper, no dateline
