Daughter of the late Richard Hord and Lois Harding Hord, she was born in Taylor County, Ky., on Dec. 28, 1901, and was a member of Campbellsville Baptist Church. Tarter was a former Postmistress. She was married to Bradley Tarter in 1921 who preceded her in death on Aug. 20, 1958. Survivors include one granddaughter and one grandson, Sara Lissa Hampshire and Bradley Hutchison, both of Nashville, Tenn.; three great- grandchildren, Kate Hampshire, Christopher Hampshire and Taylor Hutchison, all of Nashville, Tenn.; a daughter-in-law, Virginia Hutchison of Brentwood, Tenn.; and one sister, Lois Faulkner of Campbellsville. She was also preceded in death by one son, Richard P. Hutchison on Sept. 8, 1995. Graveside service was at 1 p.m., Monday, Nov. 16 at Brookside Cemetery by Dr. J. Chester Badgett. Pallbearers were Boogie Faulkner, Lee Faulkner, Christopher Hampshire, ! Peter Hampshire, Brad Hutchison, Taylor Hutchison, Willard Smith and Bill Walker.
