Submitted by Debbie Dicken Mr. James Franklin Parsons, 93, Boston Convalescent Center, Route 4, Campbellsville, died Wednesday afternoon, December 1, 1971, at the Taylor County Hospital after suffering a stroke. He was born September 15, 1878, in Grayson County, Virginia, the son of the late Mary Wilds Parsons and Rev. R. C. Parsons. Mr. Parsons was married June 13, 1903, to Fannie Chappell, who preceded him in death. He was a member of the Church of God. Survivors are: four daughters, Mrs. J. A. Carter, Campbellsville, Mrs. Roy Jones, Route 1, Campbellsville, Mrs. G. E. Bloyd, Fairdale, and Mrs. Homer Cooper, Cincinnati; four sons, R. C. Parsons, Star Route, Campbellsville, W. O. Parsons and James H. Parsons, both of Lockland, Ohio, and Ballard Parsons, of Southland, California; twenty-four grandchildren and thirty-one great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Saturday morning, December 4, at the Lyon Funeral Home by Rev. J. D. Campbell and Rev. George R. Gaddie. Burial was in Campb! ellsville Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers were: Larry Calhoun, James Cooper, Donald Cooper, Danny Parsons, Larry Cooper, and Terry Parsons. Unknown Taylor County newspaper, no dateline.
