THIS INDENTURE, made and entered into this 23rd of January, 1833 between 
Gregory D. Johnson of the County of Trigg and state of Kentucky of the one 
part, and Harrison A. Johnson of the County and state aforesaid of the other 
part Witnesseth, that the said G. D. Johnson has this day for and in 
consideration of the sum of two hundred Dollars, in hand paid, the receipt of 
which he doth hereby acknowledge hath bargained and sold unto the said H. A. 
Johnson a certain tract or parcel of land lying in the afsaid county of Trigg 
on the waters of Tennessee River, and bounded as follows Viz: Beginning at two 
white oaks, at Ewes Spring, running thence with said Spring branch North 41º 
W. leaving the same a short distance below the spring, and continuing the same 
course 135 poles to a poplar, gum, and white oak in said Johnson’s line thence 
N. 41º E 150 poles to a black oak and black walnut, thence S. 45º E 44 poles 
to a black waln ut, and two elms, thence S. 7º E. 40 poles to two black gums, 
thence E. 20º W. 186 poles to the place of beginning.  Containing one hundred 
acres more or less.  The said G. D. Johnson for himself, his heirs and assigns 
doth hereby for ever warrant and defend the said tract of land to him the said 
H. A. Johnson his heirs and assigns against the claim of himself, his heirs 
and assigns or any person or persons claiming under, by, or through himself, 
his heirs or assigns for ever.  In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my 
hand & affixed my seal the day and date above.

		I, William Gannon, clerk of the County Court for the County 
aforesaid, do hereby certify, that this deed from Gregory D. Johnson to 
Harrison A. Johnson was on this day produced to me in my office & acknowledged 
by said Gregory D. Johnson, the grantor, to be his act & deed.  Whereupon said 
Deed together with this certificate hath been duly admitted to record in my 
office.  Given under my hand this 8th day of July 1833.
