Deed: John Bates: Trimble Co: 1850 Submitted by: Joy Mack Email: cmuck@seidata.com Trimble County Courthouse Bedford, Kentucky Deed Book C, pg. 471 Dated 12 Nov 1850 Grantor: John Bates Grantee: Edmund Bates THIS INDENTURE made and entered into this 12th day of November 1850 Between John Bates of the first part and Edmund Bates of the second part both of the County of Trimble and State of Kentucky Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred and fifty dollars in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged both bargained and sold and by these presents doth bargain sell and transfer unto the said Edmund Bates and his heirs forever the following tract or parcel of land lying and being in the County of Trimble and on the waters of Corn Creek and bounded as follows Viz. Beginning at an elm Sugar tree and ash thence S 14 E 138 poles to two sugartrees and walnut on the south fork of corn creek thence up said creek 55 poles to a sugartree and bush corner to Alexander Givens thence North 160 poles to a hickory and black locust thence S 60 W 18 poles to a sugar and elm thence N 87 W 72 poles to the beginning containing fifty acres more or less To have and to hold the land hereby convence with all and singular appurtenances thereunto appertaining unto him the said Edmund Bates and his heirs forever and the said John Bates hereby convenants and agrees with the said Edmund Bates and his heirs that he will warrant and forever defend the title of the aforesaid premises against the claim or claims of all and every person or persons lawfully claiming or to claim the same the said land was sold to said Edmund some six or eight years since In Testimony whereof the said John Bates has hereunto Set his hand and affixed his seal the date above written.
