Whitaker, Miranda Josie Whitaker Grantee: Samuel D. Farley, Amanda Farley This indenture made and entered into this June 26th 1886 by and between John B. Whitaker and Miranda J. Whitaker1 his wife, of the first part and Samuel D. Farley and Amanda Farley2 his wife of the second part both parties of the County of Trimble & State of Kentucky. Witness that for and in consideration of sixty dollars $60.00 paid and to be paid as follows $40.00 cash in hand paid by Amanda Farley the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged and $20.00 to be paid by Samuel D. Farley on the 1st day of March 1887 for which sum he has executed his note bearing even date herewith, payable to said Miranda J. Whitaker the parties of the first part to have and by these presents do grant bargain alien and sell unto them the parties of the second part their heirs or assignes the following discribed real estate to wit: all the undivided one sixth3 interest of Miranda J. Whitaker in and to the real estate of which her father Joseph Farley did _______ & possessed and described as follow to wit: situated on the waters of Barebone in Trimble County, KY first tract bounded on the north by the lands of James Farley4 on the east by Chas Bare, on the south by Joseph & Mary Thomasson, and on the west by the lands of Mary Farley5 dead containing 34 1/2 acres more or less. Second tract bounded on the north and east by the lands of Mary Overton6 on the south by the lands of Chas Bare & on the west by James Farley containing five acres more or less to have and to hold the same unto them the said second parties their heirs or assignes forever as follows to Samuel D. Farley the 1/3 and to Amanda Farley 2/3 of the interest In and to the lands herein conveyed with covenant of general warranty. A lien is hereby retained on the land herein conveyed until all the purchase money is paid In testimony whereof the parties of the first part have hereunto subscribed their names day and date first above written. Whitaker her husband parties thereto to be their act and deed and on this 28th day of June 1886 said deed was lodged to be and is with this certificate duly recorded in my office. Logan DC 1 nee Farley, Miranda is Samuel Dicen Farley's older sister. 2 nee Lewis, d/o Ignatious Lewis and Lucy Ann (nee Duke) Lewis. 3 Joseph Hayden Farley Jr., and Mary Jane (nee Perkinson) Farley were the parents of seven children. Miranda is selling her sixth, not seventh, showing that one child is dead. That child is Alonzo G, born abt 1867, and alive in the 1880 census. All other children lived to adulthood. 4 James Farley, younger brother of Joseph H. Farley Jr. James is Samuel's Uncle. 5 nee Rowlet, Mary Owen (Polly) is Samuel's Grandmother. 6 nee Farley, younger sister of Joseph H. Farley Jr. Widow of Ben Overton, Mary is Samuel's Aunt.
