Deed: Willie Crafton: Trimble Co: 1838 Submitted by: Joy Mack Email: cmuck@seidata.com Trimble County Courthouse Bedford, Kentucky Deed Book A, pg. 84-85 Transcribed copies Grantor: Wilie & Agnes Crafton Grantee: John Chalfant THIS INDENTURE made and entered into this 17th.day of January one thousand eight hundred thirty eight between Wiley Crafton and Agnes his wife of the County of Trimble and State of Kentucky of the one part and John Chalfant of the County and State aforesaid of the other part witnesseth That the said Wiley Crafton and Agnes Crafton his wife for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred dollars to them in hand paid by the said John Chalfant the receipt whereof we do hereby acknowledge hath bargained, granted and sold and by these presents do bargain, grant and sell to the said John Chalfant his heirs and assigns forever all our right, title and interest to all the lands of Abner Chalfand dec'd. in the County of Trimble and State of Kentucky together with all and singular the appurtenances belonging thereto and the said Wiley and Agnes his wife doth warrent and forever defend the said premises and appurtenances unto the said John Chalfant his heirs and assigns forever against the claim or claims of all and every othe person or persons whomsoever. In witness whereof we have hereunto set our hands and affixed our seals this date above written. Wilhite two of the Commonwealths Justice of the Peace for said County do certify that Agnes Crafton the wife of the within named Wilie Crafton this day personally appeared before us who being examined privaly and apart from her husband as the law directs volentarily with her own free will and consent relinquishes her wright of dower to the premises conveyed by this deed and the same is certified to the clerk of the County Court of the County of Trimble for record where the premises lie.
