Deed: Gillum: Trimble Co: 1842 Submitted by: Joy Mack Email: cmuck@seidata.com Trimble County Courthouse Bedford, Kentucky Deed Book B, pg. 336-338 Grantor: Talbott & Mary Gillum Grantee: Ransome Henley This Indenture made this twenty fifth day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty two between Talbott Gillum and Mary his wife of the county of Decater and State of Indiana of the first part and Ransome Henley of the county of Trimble and state of Kentucky of the second part. Witnesseth: that the said party of the first part for and in consideration of the Sum of one thousand dollars to the the said party of the first by the part of the second part in hand paid the receipts where of is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained and sold And by these presents doth grant bargain sell unto the said party of the second part all the following described piece or parcel of land Situate 1852 lying and being in the county of Trimble and State of Kentucky on Corn Creek being a part of March 8th John Roberts Survey of Ten thousand acres and bounded as follows towit: Beginning at three deliv'd beeches standing with dividing line which was made between Said Roberts Ben Pope and James Patton thence North 76 East 160 poles to two lynns and beach thence South 14 East 200 poles to a lym dogwood and Ironwood thence South 25 degrees West 52 poles to two sugar trees on a branch thence South 60 degrees West 52 poles to Elm and Shugar tree in Said branch thence North 87 degrees 72 poles to Elm Sugar and Ash trees on said Branch and said division line thence with said division line two hundred and forty poles to the place of Beginning containing two hundred and twenty five arces (expect forty acres or there abouts deeded heretofore by David Gillum to William Toombs) which will leave one hundrend and eighty two acres now intended to be conveyed to Said Ransoms Hunley To have and to hold The above described premises with all the appurtenances tot he Same belonging to the Said party of the Second part his heirs and assigns forever and the said party of the first part their heirs executors and administrators the aforesaid lot or tract of land with the appurtenances to the Said Ransoms Hunley his heirs and assigns will forever warrant and defend. In testimony whereof the Said Talbot Gillum and Mary his wife have here unto set their hands & seals this day and year first above written Signed Sealed & deliveredin presence of Talbott Gillum (seal) Irsael T. Gibson her Abraham Irgimed Mary X Gillum (seal) mark State of Indiana} Decater County} ss personally appeared before the undersigned and of the justices of the peace of said county Talbot Gillum and acknowledged this foregoing instrument of writing to be his voluntary Act and deed for the purpose therein mentioned Also Mary Gillum the wife of the Said Talbot Gillum who being by me examined separate from her said husband and the full contents thereof being again shown to her acknowledged the foregoing instrument to be her voluntary act and deed and that she aid sign seal and deliver voluntarily without force or compultrons of or from her said husband. Gibson Esq's before when the within acknowledgement to have been taken was at the time of taking Said Acknowlegde -ment an acting justice of the peace in and for said county commissioned and sworn into office and to all his official Acts as such full faith and credit an due and ought to be given.
