Grantee: Jefferson Toombs of Trimble County Kentucky. (written in margin: Tax & Fee paid) THIS INDENTURE made and Entered into this 7th day of November 1859 Between John D. Toombs and (looks like Wilma) Toombs his wife Joseph Toombs and Amelia Toombs his wife Shadrick BArnes and Harriett Barnes his wife of the County of Trimble and State of Kentucky and William Toombs and Martha A. Toombs his wife of Scott County and State of Indiana of the first part and Jefferson Toombs of the County of Trimble and State of Kentucky of the Second part. Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the Sum of ninety dollars to Each of the parties said and Secured to be paid they have and by these present do bargain sel and convey unto the Said Jefferson Toombs his heirs and assigns forever all the undivided interest they the parties of the first part have in and to the tract of land on which their father William Toombs dec'd lived at teh time of his death lying and being in the County of Trimble State of Kentucky and on the waters of Corn Creek Adjoining the lands of John A. Givens, T.B. Young, William Glasscock and William Barnes. Is supposed to contain One hundred and forty three acres. To have and to hold all the undivided interest of them the party of the first part in and to the land above described and they the party of the first part will Warrant and forever deferred the title of their undivided interest against the claim or claims of all persons lawfully claiming or to claim the Same. Toombs and Martha A Toombs his wife to me personally Known to be the individuals named in and who Executor the foregoing conveyance and acknowledged that they executed the Same for the purposes therein mentioned and the Said Martha A Toombs being by me examined apart from her husband and made fully acquainted with the contents of the foregoing deed acknowledged that She executed the Same and relinquished her dower in the real Estate therein mentioned freely without comfaultion or undue influance of her Said husband, In Witness whereof I have hereunto Set my hand and affixed the seal of Said County at Lexington the day and year aforesaid. Barnes his wife parties their to to be their act and deed as appears from an endorsment made thereon in the hand writing of my predicipor in these words (Filed & Ackn. by Joseph Toombs & wife Shed Barnes & wife Nov. 10th 1859) and left for second and acknowledged before me in my County by John D. Toombs and Mary Jane Toombs his wife parties thereto to be their act and deed and this certificated being Stamped as required by act of Congress, Said deed together with the foregoing and this certificate hath been duly Recorded in my office.
