Brown buwbrown@comcast.net December 15, 2009, 9:03 am Revolutionary Pension Of Jesse Law Aug. 19, 1835: Jesse Law of Oldham Co., KY, aged 75, made application. He was born in Henrico Co., Va., Jan. 9, 1750, and enlisted in Pittsylvania Co., Va., in Apr. 1777. He resided in Pittsylvania Co. until about 1800, when he removed to Kentucky and settled in Shelby Co., which later became Oldham. He died in Trimble Co., Ky., Nov. 14, 1839. Nov. 30, 1843: His widow, Mary (aka Polly), nee Willis, applied in Jefferson Co., Ind. She aged 84. She resided with a son-in-law, Francis Barnes. She married Jesse Law in Pittsylvania Co. Dec. 1, 1780. Mary died Apr. 23, 1845. Nov. 31, 1843: Francis Barnes of Jefferson Co., Ind., deposed that Mary Law had lived with him about 2 years. He married Avariller Law, daughter of Jesse and Mary, Mar. 29, 1806, and his wife was aged about 54 at the present time. The oldest child, Joel Law, died about 8 years previous and at that time was about 54 years old. Dec. 1, 1843: John Bell of Trimble County, Ky., aged 77, deposed that Mary was his aunt and that he was present at her wedding. Dec. 15, 1852: Anderson Law (no relationship stated) deposed that he was executor of the estate of Jesse Law and that Mary Law died Apr. 23, 1845. Dec. 4, 1852: Daniel S. Law (no relationhip stated) deposed that he had been acquainted with Jesse and Mary Law since 1807 and was well acquainted with their children: Joel, Willis, Elizabeth, Sally, Averilla, John, Daniel and Anderson Law. Anderson was the youngest child. June 6, 1850: Susannah Law of Jefferson Co., Ind., deposed that she was widow of Joel Law, who would have been aged 68 in 1850 but had been dead about 15 years. Polly Law left 5 children: Elizabeth, wife of Dick Lancaster; Sally, wife of John Barnes; Avurillar, wife of Francis Barnes; Daniel Law; Anderson Law. Children who were dead: John, Willis and John Law. Dec. 2, 1852: Jack Pryor of Trimble Co. deposed that he was well acquainted with Jesse and Polly Law since about 1797 or 1798.
