Greenwood, 85, died Sunday morning at the King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison. Born in Trimble county, son of William and Nora McMahan Greenwood, he attended grade school in a log schoolhouse located in the environs of Corn Creek. He was in the Navy during World War I. After the war and separation from service, he was married to Ethel Culver and they moved to Indianapolis, where he worked at Prestal Lights. Coming back to Trimble county, he farmed - and continued on in farming until retirement. During the early 1930's, he was active in the American Legion, and was Commander at one time of Joe McCain Post No. 75. He was a Kentucky Colonel. Mr. Greenwood was a member of Mt. Byrd Christian Church. Survivors include his wife, Ethel Culver Greenwood; one son, Clyde E. Greenwood, Milton; one grandson, Gary Greenwood, Milton and a granddaughter, Mrs. Donna Mayfield, Vally View, Texas; two great grandchildren: Bobby Greenwood and Walt Eric Mayfield; and a number of nieces and nephews. Mr. Greenwood was the last of a family of eight brothers and sisters. Services were conducted Wednesday morning at Wood-Oakley Funeral Home with Bro. Robert Everhart officiating. Burial was in the Moffett Cemetery. Casketbearers were Donald Stewart, James Heilman, Roger Bradley, Randall Austin, Charles Richmond and Wayne Brown. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- (2) Obituary from the Madison Courier, Madison, Indiana 1982 Jennings Greenwood Jennings Greenwood, 85, route three Milton, died yesterday morning at King's Daughters' Hospital. He was a retired farmer, member of the Mt. Byrd Christian Church, veteran of World War I, and member of the American Legion Post of Trimble County. Survivors include his wife, Ethel, one son, Trimble County Judge/Executive Clyde "Jack" Greenwood; two grandchildren: Mrs. Donna Mayfield, Valley View, Texas; and Gary Greenwood, Milton; and two great-grandchildern. He was preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Wood-Oakley Funeral Home in Milton, with burial in the Moffett Cemetery.
