Obituary: Trimble Co.: Morgan SUBMITTER: Susan Jones email macduff@citrus.infi.net James T. Morgan An old and Respected Citizen called to rest Mr. James Taylor Morgan, after an illness of several days, peacefully passed into the great beyond, late Saturday afternoon Jan. 17. He had been ______ for quite awhile, the ravages of age beginning to show fast in his latter days. Eighty-two mile stones had been passed, a long distance. A good old age. When the summons came he was ready and willing to go, bowing without a murmur to the will of his maker. Mr. Morgan was born in Oldham county, but spent most of his life in Trimble. His entire life was spent in the noble occupation, farming. Early in life he was united in marriage with Mrs. Ann Burkes. The venerable wife survives him. Had he lived until February they would have celebrated the fiftieth anniversary of their marriage the "gold wedding" that so few are permitted to celebrate. To this union five children were born, four of whom survive. They are Mrs. Bettie Burrows, of near Abbott, this county, Mrs. Mollie Bicknell, of Henry county, Mrs. Millie Givens of Texas, and W. B. Morgan, of Bedford. Mr. Morgan was a consistent member of the Baptist church, being very attentive upon the ordinances of his chosen denomination. The funeral took place Sunday afternoon from the residence of his son, W. B. Morgan, a large concourse of relatives and friends following all that was mortal of the departed to the final resting place. The pall-bearers, all nephews of the deceased, were as follows: W. C. Morgan, J. F. Morgan, Lucian Morgan, C. R. Morgan, A. S. Morgan and _____Morgan. Rev. W. F. Wyatt conducted the services at the home and tenderly bade farewell to thusband and father as they left him to sleep in peace among the silent slumberers in the city of the dead. ********************************** USGENWEB NOTICE: In keeping with our policy of providing free genealogical information on the Internet, data may be freely used for personal research and by non-commercial entities as long as this message remains on all copied material.
