Mrs. Effie Virginia Oak, 32, wife of Frank Oak, died at King's Daughters hospital last night at 9:30 o'clock following a year's illness. She was taken tot he hospital from her home on east Fifth street last Tuesday. Born in Trimble county, Kentucky, she came to Jefferson county as a young girl and had lived on Ryker's Ridge until last April when she came to Madison. Mrs. Oak was a member of Ryker's Ridge Baptist church and Eagle Spring grange. She leaves, besides her husband, a son Leo, 7; two sisters, Mrs. Nathan Danner, of this city, and Mrs. Raymond Stephan, Ryker's Ridge; two brothers, John and Lloyd Browning of Ryker's Ridge, and her parents Mr. and Mrs. A. G. Browning, of this city. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. at her home 319 east Fifth street, by Rev. Carl Rogers of Ryker's Ridge Baptist church, and burial will be in Springdale cemetery.
