Will:Bain: 1842: Trimble Co.: Submitted by: Joy Mack Email: cmuck@seidata.com October 1, 1999 Trimble County Courthouse Bedford, Kentucky Will Book 1 page 86-87 WILL OF LEWIS BAIN I Lewis Bain of the County of Trimbe and State of Kentucky do hereby make my last will and testament in mannor and form following that is to say 1st I give to my beloved wife Sally Bain as a part of her dower in my estate my negro Girl Mary Jane 2nd I give to my son Johnson Bain my negro Boy John Q Aadams as a part of his legacy in my estate and one bed and furniture 3rd I give to my son Archibald Bain my negro boy Simpson Barges as a part of his legacy in my estate 4th I give to my daughter Elvina Bain my negro Girl Cyntha Ann as a part of her legacy in my estate and one bed and furniture together witht he bed clothes which she herself has made also a young mare called Copper Bottom three years old this spring 5th All the rest of my estate both real and personal of what nature or Kind so ever it may be not herein before particularily disposed of I desire may be sold and after my beloved wife Sally Bain has received out of the processes thereof what will make up her third part of dower in my estate when added to the appraised value of the above negro girl Mary Jane already devised to her as so much of her dowery the remainder thereof I give to my children and grand children in manner following that is to say I give to my son Johnson Bain as much thereof when added to the appraised value of the negro boy devised to him above will make one seventh part of my estate other than my wifes dower, I give to my son Archibald Bain as much thereof when added to the appraised value of the negro boy devised to him above will make one seventh part of my estate other than my wifes dower I give to the children of my deceased son Calvin Bain that is to say to Thomas O. W. Bain one dollar and to his sister Sarah E. Bain the balance of one seventh part of my estate other than my wifes dower. I give to the Children of my deceased daughter Patsy Faulkner that is to say Sally Falkner, William T. Falkner James T. Falker Achiles Falkner, Elvina Falkner Matilda R Falkner Lewis Falkner Thomas H.B. Falkner and Martha Falkner collectively one seventh part of my estate other than my wifes dower. I give to the children of my deceased daughter Elizabeth Rice that is to say to Mary M. Bradshaw one dollar and to her sister Sarah Lewis Rice the remainder of what will make one seventh part of my estate other than my wifes dower. I give to the children of my deceased Dorathy Wright Byron Wright one seventh part of my estate other than my wifes dower. And I give to daughter Elvina Bain what when added to the negro girl and man devised to her above will make one seventh part of my estate other than my wifes dower therein. And lastly I do hereby constitute and appoint my son Johnson Bain and Archibald Bain executors of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all other or former wills or testaments by me heretofore made. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this twenty first day of April in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and forty two.
