Will: Guillum: 1839: Trimble Co.: Trimble County Courthouse Bedford, Kentucky Will Book 1, Pg. 48-49 Will of David Gillum 1839 In the name of God Amen. I David Gillum of the County of Trimble and State of Kentucky am now Sick tho of Sound mine and disposing memory and b ted for man to die [a mark] - do hereby ordain this my last will and testament in Words as followth, First, I ve comend my Soul to God that give it, as to my Worldy good I disese after my departure that my excecutor herein after named should proced to Sell and pay my funeral expences and all my just debts, and take in to his care and made for and mintain my loving and faithful wife Mary Gillum during [a mark] her natural life instead of dower, I give to my son Talbott Gillum all my estate both real and personal to enable him to pay my just debts and should there any thing remain after the payment of my debts I give and bequeath to him all of Such residue for and in consideraton of the Ciruices [not for sure what this word is] that he has allready rendered to me and my wife, and for the rest of children I consider that ample provision has been made for them heretofore by me and lastly I hereby constitute and appoint my loving and trusty Son Talbott Gillum Executor to this my last Will and testament and do hereby revoke all former Wills by me heretofore made and declare this to by my only Will, Signed Sealed Acknowledged and delivered to be my last Will and Testament for the purposes herein mentioned in presence of this 28th day March 1839 Moses Tandy his William Barnes David X Gillum John A. Givens mark State of Kentucky Trimble County Court June Term 1939 A writing purporting to be the last will and testament of David Gillum deceased was produced in court whereupon Moses Tandy and John A. Givens two of the subscribing witnesses thereto being sworn State that the said Writing was acknowledged by the said David Gillum as and for his last will and testament, and that they beleive he was of a Sound disposing mind and memory at the time of doing the same which will is ordered to be recorded, and thereupon Talbott Gillum the Executor named in said will came into court and took upon himself the burthen of the execution thereof and having taken the oath required by law and intend into bon with John A. Givens and Shelby Maddox his Lecurities in the penalty of four hundred dollars conditioned as the law directs proteate of said will is granted him in due form of law. James Salty C.
